AVMF partners with Embrace Pet Insurance to launch scholarship program for veterinary students committed to shelter medicine
The American Veterinary Medical Foundation (AVMF) is thrilled to announce a new partnership with Embrace Pet Insurance, aimed at supporting the next generation of veterinarians dedicated to shelter work. Through this collaboration, Embrace Pet Insurance will provide $5,000 scholarships to five, third- or fourth-year veterinary students who demonstrate a commitment to pursuing careers in shelter medicine upon graduation.

About the Embrace Pet Insurance Scholarship:
Eligibility criteria:
- Must be a third- or fourth-year student in good standing at an AVMA Council on Education accredited school of veterinary medicine.
- Must be located within the United States.
- Must demonstrate an intention to work in shelter medicine upon graduation.
Timeline:
- Applications accepted: September 1 – September 30, 2024
- Application review: October 7 – October 25, 2024
- Award notification and funds disbursement: 2024 Fall Semester
