Since its inception, AVMF has provided grants to help veterinarians help animals through education, animal welfare, disaster relief, and research programs.
The American Veterinary Medical Foundation (AVMF) is the charitable arm of the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), one of the oldest and largest veterinary medical organizations in the world.
Through the AVMF, your generous gifts help support the charitable care of injured or abandoned animals; disaster relief efforts; education; and research to help prevent, diagnose, and treat animal diseases.
AVMA member veterinarians who provide charitable veterinary care for dogs and service animals of military veterans may be eligible to apply for a special veterans grant through AVMF.
Eligibility Criteria:
Be a current AVMA member veterinarian – pet owners are not eligible to apply.
Have provided treatment of illness or conditions requiring immediate veterinary medical care to an animal whose owner is a military veteran.
First preference given to a certified service animals.
Grant requests up to $2,000.
Funds are limited and will be distributed as they are available.
